ONYX is a boutique building design firm, specialising in custom home design, established on the Fleurieu Peninsula in 2018 by Daniel Zrim.
ONYX provides design and drafting services to clients, builders, and architects across South Australia and beyond.
We take great pride in shaping the future of the beautiful Fleurieu Peninsula region and creating one-of-a-kind homes for our clients to enjoy for many years to come.

MEET DANIEL
OWNER AND LEAD DESIGNER
Daniel has always had a strong passion for creative subjects, having studied web, graphic, and furniture design. After finishing high school in 2010, Daniel took a gap year to Europe, where he discovered his love for architecture.
With tertiary studies completed in 2014, Daniel secured a position with a highly regarded construction company in Victor Harbor, where he spent the next three years learning and developing his skills to eventually begin his own building design practice, ONYX.
Daniel calls the beautiful Fleurieu Peninsula home and has a love for coastal passive designs with energy efficiency at the forefront.
MEET NICK
ASSISTANT DRAFTSPERSON
Nick came on board in 2022 with a wealth of drafting experience, and has become an integral part of the team at ONYX.
A native to Bulgaria, Nick has called Australia home for over 10 years, and has become an integral part of the ONYX team.

Being local to the area, the majority of our projects are located in this beautiful part of the world. The area is favourable to so many because of its beautiful coastal scenery, beaches, markets, tourist attractions, and many fabulous eateries all just an hour’s drive from Adelaide. The perfect location for that weekend beach house getaway!
The team at ONYX have a sound understanding of the local climate, scenery and lifestyle. From Victor Harbor and surrounds, across to Goolwa and Hindmarsh Island, up to McLaren Vale and Aldinga, and down to Carrickalinga and Normanville.
ADELAIDE METRO
Our designs are not limited to only beautiful beach houses! We cover all Adelaide Metro locations including the seaside to the West and South, the foothills to the East, the open plains of the North, or the heart of the CBD. We offer the same high end design solutions and expertise for an array of urban projects across the Adelaide metropolitan area.
ADELAIDE HILLS
Steep in heritage, the leafy suburbs of the Adelaide Hills have seen rapid expansion in recent years. Residents can have that feeling of being amongst the trees and wildlife, whilst still being just a short drive down the freeway to the Adelaide CBD. ONYX has had the privilege of working on many unique projects in areas including Belair, Crafers and Bridgewater.
KANGAROO ISLAND
World renowned for its unique landscape, flora and fauna, Kangaroo Island is well worth the ferry trip.
With recent projects in Kingscote and Emu Bay, we are thrilled to be able to offer our services to all current and future residents of this beautiful part of the world. We can’t wait to see where our next Kangaroo Island project takes us.
